What could go wrong with shooting a video of a deponent? Unfortunately, you may not find out until it is too late. Poor audio, cluttered background or improper framing can negatively affect the quality and impact of your video. You need a pro to set the stage prior to the arrival of the participants to ensure an effective and persuasive presentation.

Halasz videographers have shot thousands of depositions. Every deposition is important to us because we know how important each deposition is to you and your case. Physicians and other experts may charge upwards of $1,000 per hour for deposition testimony. You have one shot at taking the deposition and you want it done right. Our videographers follow a standard protocol to guarantee a high-quality finished product.

Turn to Halasz Reporting & Videoconference for all of your Legal Videography needs for Depositions, Examinations Under Oath, Day-In-The-Life vignettes, or Accident-Scene videography.

We arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of a deposition to allow ample set-up time and troubleshooting. Within the confines of each location we assess the lighting conditions, the seating arrangement, the background noise, and we configure the room to produce the highest quality video possible. You will notice that our equipment set-up is neat and professional, with microphone wires taped under the table and not strewn across the table top. Where possible, we use a neutral backdrop. Audio levels and framing of the deponent and/or exhibits are constantly monitored throughout the proceeding.

Our videographers adhere to Certified Legal Video Specialist training guidelines and principles to make sure your courtroom playbacks are clear, audible and professional in appearance. The quality of the end product, the edited DVD you play in court, is dependent upon the skill and experience of your videographer. Halasz videographers are pros in every respect. The simple, plain, grey backdrops we use for most depositions make witnesses and exhibits stand out on playback monitors. Our Shure lapel mikes and Sony Hi-def cameras consistently deliver clear sound and sharp images.

Halasz Reporting & Videoconference gladly delivers excerpted or edited versions of videos for playback to a jury. Each Halasz videographer has had training and experience with the edit process from start to finish. To insure that edited DVDs exactly match your needs, we strongly encourage all clients to submit redacted transcripts at least two days prior to trial. The editing process begins with loading video onto a computer. Editing requires identifying specific start and end points and then saving these points to a video clip file. Once edited clips are compiled, they are then rendered by the computer to form one cohesive video which is then output to a DVD. The entire process typically requires double the time of the original taping. We support a variety of formats such as MPEG 1 and 2.

Many lawyers find text and video synchronization useful for trial preparation and in-court playback of selected portions of deposition testimony. There is no better impeachment of a witness than the playback of prior inconsistent testimony utilizing synchronized text and video. The linking of transcript and video allows for quick text searches so that relevant portions of the video can be rapidly located and played before a jury. We use YesLaw software for our synchronization which can be used seamlessly with most trial-presentation software.

Halasz Reporting & Videoconference will deliver a DVD player and monitor where you need it, when you need it, set it up and provide an experienced technician to handle playback so you have one less worry in court. Connect your computer to our monitor and display your Powerpoint presentation to the jury.
